Rev. Joab Powell (1799-873) was a pioneer Baptist circuit rider who was born in Tennesse and died in Linn County, Oregon.

He began to preach at the age of 24 and moved to Missouri, where he preached for 20 years. In 1852, he came overland to Oregon to preach. He was a circuit rider in Oregon for 23 years as well as a farmer.
