The JADRC was incorporated on March 31, 1906 for $1,900,000. On Nov. 25, 1906 it acquired the Detroit, Plymouth & Northville Railway Co. and the Jackson & Ann Arbor Railway Co. It was sold on July 19, 1906 to Detroit, Jackson & Chicago Railway Co.(DJCRC). The DJCRC was incorporated on Jan. 12, 1907 for $25,000 in Detroit. It bought the Detroit, Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor & Jackson Railway Co. on Feb. 1, 1907 and the JADRC in 1906. It was sold on Sept. 12, 1928 by Detroit United Railway. Operations ended on Sept. 4, 1929.
