Dock graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1844, W.E. Horner having acted as his preceptor. Some of Horner's cases are briefly described. Dock served a year as one of the Resident Physicians at Blockley; pasted in at end a "List of operations and remarkable cases in the Blockley Hospital during my residence therein from May 1842 until May 1843."
