New Mexico. Governor (1955-1956 : Simms)
John F. Simms was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1916. He attended the New Mexico Military Institute, the University of New Mexico, and Yale Law School. A Democrat, he served as a New Mexico State Legislator (1947), Speaker of the House (1949), and as Governor of New Mexico (1955-1956).
