Carnell family.

Hide Profile

The Carnell family lived in North Philadelphia from the late 19th to the mid 20th century. Amanda Carnell (maiden name unknown) graduated from the Foulke and Long Institute in 1899 and married Charles Carnell, owner of an iron foundry shop and machine shop in Philadelphia. She had at least one son, named Franklin, who eventually took over his father's business.

Other members of the family include Laura Carnell (1867-1929) and Bessie Carnell (d. 1954) who were cousins. Bessie married Philadelphia wholesale grocer William H. Eden, and Laura was an early benefactress of Temple University.
