Giles, Annie B.
Annie B. Giles was the daughter of Austin residents Valerius Cincinnatus Giles (1842-1915) and his wife Lou Barnhart Giles. Valerius, a Confederate veteran, and his wife, a founding member of the Albert Sidney Johnston Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, were active on behalf of Confederate veterans and instrumental in the founding and administration of the Confederate Home for Men (1887) and the Confederate Woman's Home (1908) in Austin, Texas.
