Born on April 3, 1954. Activist. Cianci graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1972 and attended the National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois, from 1972 until 1975. She served as the Girls Program Director at the Evanston YMCA the following year. In 1976, she became a full-time homemaker, raising her two children, Mia and Matthew. Beth soon became involved in advocacy efforts for women's rights, especially concerning the rights of homemakers. She worked with the Homemakers Equal Rights Association, serving on its national board from approximately 1979 until 1983. She also served as a field organizer for the National Organization for Women and helped found the first National Women's Center in Woodstock, Illinois.
