Historical Note: The firm of Evans & Iglehart was actively involved in business, 1815-1823, in the cities of Baltimore and Annapolis (Md.).
Apparently, the firm was charged with collecting debts owed to some of the leading merchants in Baltimore and Annapolis during the early nineteenth century. Both cities were centers of mercantile opportunity and were well served by a rising class of merchants and business people. Most likely, Evans & Iglehart acted as agents for those merchants who were owed payment on previously delivered goods.
