Lubbock, Adelaide
Variant namesAdelaide Lubbock is related to Owen Stanley and is the author of Australian roundabout, Owen Stanley and People in glass houses. Owen Stanley was a naval officer and marine surveyor. In 1838 he sailed to Port Essington in Northern Australia and later in 1840 he assisted in the foundation of Auckland and surveyed the harbour. In 1847 he returned to Australia, in command of H.M.S. Rattlesnake, and for 3 years was engaged in survey work along the southern coast of New Guinea.
