Durfee, Horton K., 1925-

Horton Durfee was born in N.Y. in 1925. After graduation from Darrow High School, New Lebanon, N.Y., he was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program at Syracuse Univ., Auburn Branch. The program was terminated at the beginning of 1944 and Durfee enlisted at Fort Dix, N.J. on February 12, 1944. He received basic training at Camp Wolters, Tex. before joining the Company L, 86th Infantry Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division. Durfee was stattioned at Camp Swift, Tex., before being deployed to Italy. He received a Bronze Star Medal for his actions on February 23, 1945 and was wounded in action at Campo del Sole on March 3, 1945.
