Benjamin H. Shoemaker III (1901-1987) was a resident of the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Germantown Friends School and Yale University, and worked as an investment banker. Shoemaker was an active member of many social clubs, sporting clubs, as well as a number of local historical societies. He was the author of the two-volume series of genealogical works titled Shoemaker Pioneers .

His father was the owner of Benjamin H. Shoemaker, Inc., importers and distributors of window glass, polished plate, and wire glass, etc. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
