Maguire, Andrew

Andrew Maguire was born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1939 and graduated from Oberlin College with a B.A. in religion in 1969 and from Harvard University with a Ph.D. in government in 1966. From 1966 to 1969 he served as advisor to United Nations Ambassador Arthur J. Goldberg. He served as a Democratic congressman from New Jersey's Seventh District from 1974 to 1980. After an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. Senate in 1982, he became a staff member of the World Resources Institute in Washington, D.C. Full name: Gene Andrew Maguire.
