Drayton, Joseph, 1795-1856
Variant namesJoseph Drayton was an illustrator for the United States Exploring Expedition (1838-1842), and produced numerous drawings of fishes during the expedition, many of which are in Smithsonian collection. Drayton also helped supervise the illustrations and engraving work for a number of the scientific reports which were published.
