Maud E., Lady Gladstone of Hawarden

Maud E. Gladstone, Lady Gladstone of Hawarden, was the second daughter of the first and last baron Rendel (died 1913). In 1890 she married Henry Neville Gladstone (1852-1935) the third son of Liberal Party leader and Prime Minister, William Ewart Gladstone (1809-1898) and his wife Catharine. Lady Gladstone was a great music lover and had many friends and acquaintances who were musicians including Mary Carmicheal (died 1935) and her sister Rose's son Harry Stewart Goodhart-Rendel who composed music and was Slade Professor of Fine Art at Oxford University from 1933-1936. Lady Gladstone died in 1941.
