Arbuckle was born on Sept. 8, 1894 in Lake City (Mich.), the daughter of William and Lydia Arbuckle. Eloise graduated from Lake City High School and CMU (1915) with a teaching certificate. She taught in Bad Axe (Mich.) in 1915, Boyne City (Mich.), 1919-1927 and 1942 until her retirement in 1965, Orlando (Flor.), 1927-1932, and Clarion (Mich.), 1938-1941. A year before she died, Eloise moved to Boyne City to live near her nieces and nephews. She died on July 6, 1894 in Fremont (Mich.) and was buried in Maple Law Cemetery.
