Pedersen, Thyra E., ca.1889-
A teacher at Union Girls School in Hangchow, China, and at The Sgaw Karen High School in Bassein, Burma (1923-1925), Pedersen was assistant director of the nursing service of the U.S. Veterans Administration (ca. 1925-1943); rehabilitation officer for the American Legion (1947-1950), and chief nurse at two VA facilities. She worked to combat discrimination against women veterans.
