The Association of Orthodox Jewish Teachers was founded to promote the interests of Orthodox Jewish teachers working in the New York City public school system. Founded in 1963, the Association provided a forum for ideas, offered support and encouragement for new teachers, arranged community functions and acted as a spokesman for the religious needs of its members.
