South Cottonwood Ward.
SOCOTWA originated with the Eagles Club of the South Cottonwood Ward in Salt Lake City around 1948. Scouts were taken on river trips in Utah. The popularity of these trips expanded SOCOTWA until it became a corporation in 1953.
