Charlotte-Mecklenburg Charter Commission
Established 1969 by NC General Assembly. In January 1971, proposed consolidation of governments for the City of Charlotte, N.C., the other five towns within Mecklenburg County, and the county itself. Voters rejected the plan on March 22, 1971.
