Jones, William Clarence, 1845-1920.
William Clarence Jones was born on 1845 Nov. 9 at Oakhill, Wilcox Co., Ala. He attended the University of Ala., 1863-1864, but left school to join the Third Alabama Cavalry during the Civil War. He received a law degree from Cumberland University, Columbia, Tenn. in 1871. He taught school in Wilcox Co., Ala. for 15 years, and then practised law in Camden, Ala. He was elected to State senate from the 22nd District in 1902. Jones died on 1920 Feb. 3.
