Moore & Warner (Clinton, Ill.)

Clinton, Illinois lawyers in partnership from 1868-1901, who also acted as real estate developers, with Moore partnering with Judge David Davis in this venture from 1852 through 1886 when Davis died and then, in that too, with Warner. Moore and Davis owned over fifty thousand acres in Illinois, Missouri and Iowa. Both, Moore and Warner were Republicans and Moore served at the 1870 Constitutional Covention. Warner served in the U.S. Congress from 1895-1905, U.S. Commissioner of Pensions and president of the John Warner Bank in Clinton, Ill.
