Thomas Adam Franklin

Thomas Adam Franklin was born in 1774 at Spilsby, Lincolnshire, the eldest son of Willingham and Hannah Franklin and brother of the Arctic explorer, John Franklin. He served as a colonel of a regiment of volunteer cavalry before becoming involved in various business enterprises. He committed suicide in 1807 after a disastrous financial speculation in which he lost all his own and much of his father's money.
