Henderson, Samantha
Variant namesNew Orleanian Captain Sam Henderson commanded a company of scouts for the Army of the Department of Alabama, Mississippi, and East Louisiana during the Civil War, during which time he was captured and held as a prisoner of war until 1865.
Shortly thereafter, Henderson took an oath of allegiance to the United States, restoring his property and political rights.
