Dolores Del Rio, born in Mexico, was a popular motion picture actress in the 1920s and 1930s. The 1928 silent film Ramona, directed by Edwin Carewe, jump-started her career, as well as that of her co-star Warner Baxter, depicted as Alessandro in one of the photographs. In 1943 Del Rio returned to Mexico to continue her career.
