Daniel Roberts, Brynadda

Daniel Roberts (1805-1882) of Brynadda, Bangor in north Wales was a member of the Roberts family of Castell, Llanddeiniolen. He was a prominent farmer, Methodist layman and treasurer of the Cyfarfod Misol, Arfon Presbytery. He worked land at Brynadda on the Faenol estate until 1870, when, because of construction work and other changes on the estate, he built a new property at Penrhos which was completed in 1872 and called it Brynadda. He married Anne Jones (died 1869) of Plas Gwanas, Dolgellau and they had seven children, Griffith Jones, Hugh Roberts, Robert Jones, Mary, Ellen, Anne Catherine and John Bryn Roberts (1847-1931) who was county court judge and MP for South Caernarfonshire between 1885-1906.
