Cohen, Albert fl. 1921
Variant namesAlbert Gleaves Cohen served as campus minister at Westminster Foundation of Southern California, a Presbyterian organization, which merged into the interdenominational organization, the United Ministries in Higher Education in Southern California first at California State University, Fullerton (1965-69) and then at California State University, Los Angeles (1969-97). He supported civil rights and minority causes, social justice, higher education, and ecology concerns through intelligent stewardship of the environment. He participated on the Committee on Higher Education and Public Policy of the Southern California University Pastors, 1971-1975; the Ecology Task Force of the Southern California Council of Churches, 1971-present; and was co-convener of the Network for Environmental and Economic Responsibility of the United Church of Christ, 1986-2003.
