Frank Arhtur Barnes of Davidson, N.C., graduated with first honors from Davidson College as the top member of the class of 1895. He continued his studies at Davidson and received an M.A. degree in 1896. He studied in preparation for the Presbyterian ministry at Union, Columbia and Austin theological seminaries. He moved with his family to California and taught school for several years. He later served pastorates in Texas and North Carolina, including Mooresville, before his retirement.
