Thomas Buie Morris (1915-2001), called Tom, was a Poultry Extension Specialist at North Carolina State University (formerly North Carolina College of Agriculture and Engineering) from 1948 to 1975. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1940 and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Morris served as Secretary and Treasurer of the North Carolina State Hatchery Association for seven years.

After retiring from North Carolina State University, Thomas Buie Morris wrote Poultry Can Crow at NCSU: a History of Poultry at North Carolina State University and Stories of a Country Boy, Morris's autobiography. Morris died on Friday September 7, 2001 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
