Nash, Robert E. (Robert Ernest), 1921-

During World War II, Nash was a Staff Sergeant with 1st Battalion, 1st Infantry and saw action in the European-African-Middle Eastern theaters. He was discharged from the war in 1945. As part of the Officers Reserve Corps he was with the 505th Airborne Infantry Regiment at Fort Bragg, S.C. (1949), rose to Captain in 1952 and was attached to the 63rd Infantry Division at Fort Ord, and in 1954 was with the 782nd Airborne Ordnance Battalion. Was stationed with the Berlin Command in 1955-58 as a reserve commissioned officer and was transferred to the U.S. Ordnance Depot, Tacoma, Wash. (1959-61). Became part of the U.S. Military Assistance Advisory Group in Laos (1961-62). Rose to Major in 1960 and Lt. Colonel 1964.
