Cobb, Mary B., 1925-
Cobb, a Louisville artist most well known for her accomplishments in the field of portraiture, began her career in the 1960s as a courtroom artist. She gradually transitioned into commissioned portraiture, and through her career has painted some of Kentucky's most prominent residents. Her interest in people led her to complete projects at the St. John's Center for the Homeless and in Ghana that champion the human spirit in everyday settings. Cobb continues this theme in her "Waiting" drawings, which highlight average folks in the act of waiting in a variety of everyday contexts.
