Ephraim Hesmer Nye was born to John Nye and Charlotte Osborn on August 6, 1845 in Ashford, Kent, England. He married Harriet M. Horspool on February 9, 1867 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away on June 5, 1930 in Ogden, Weber County, Utah.

Emily Lydia Snyder Thompson is the daughter of George Gideon Snyder and Sarah Wilder Hatch Snyder. She was born in Nauvoo, Illinois on January 27 1846 and died in Scipio, Utah on December 12, 1928. She married Orvil Browning Thompson, son of William “G” Thompson and Elizabeth McAulay.
