Cornelius Joseph Connolly was born on March 6, 1883 at Stellarton, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was the son of Cornelius Connolly and Mary Desmond. He was ordained June 29, 1907 at Antigonish, Nova Scotia. He later became a professor of comparative psychology and physical anthropology, and then was appointed head of the Department of Anthropology at Catholic University. He was particularly noted for his research and publications on the morphology of the primate brain. He died on April 5, 1954 in Washington, D.C. at the age of 71.
