Riverdale Neighborhood House (Riverdale, N.Y.)

In 1872 Grace Dodge founded a library which became known in 1883 as the Riverdale Library Association. In 1921 this merged with the Riverdale Neighborhood Association to become the Riverdale Neighborhood and Library Association. Today the organization is a social service organization known as Riverdale Neighborhood House. Programs run by the organization include day camp, swimming pool, food co-op, thrift shop, classes, youth programs, day care and after-school centers, and until the 1960's, a library. It no longer includes the library.
