Navarre, Robert, 1709-1791.
Born in Villeroy in 1709, he came to Detroit in 1729 as sub-intendant and royal notary of Ft. Pontchartrain. His record was so good that the British continued him in office after 1760. On Deb. 10, 1734 he married Marie Lootman dit Barrois. In 1747 the government granted him P.C. 22 whose approximate boundaries are Tenth & Eleventh streets. He was buried Dec. 20, 1799.
