Hide Profile

The Penn State Business Women's Club was founded by Ruth Forbes, Adelle Orton, Gertrude Mobus, and Rae Gronemeyer in 1937 in order to promote sociability among women employees of the college and affiliated organizations, and to provide them an outlet to engage in educational and welfare activities. The club compiled and distributed a directory of members, held monthly meetings, and sponsored events such as picnics, parties, dances, speakers, book clubs, bridge games, and holiday charities.
