Leadbeater, E.S. & Co.
Pharmacy established in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1792 by Quaker pharmacist Edward Stabler. Following the death of Edward's son, ownership of the business passed to his son-in-law, John Leadbeater, who continued to operate the business with his son, Edward Stabler Leadbeater. The pharmacy remained in the hands of the Stabler-Leadbeater family up to the time of its closure in 1933.
