The function was: fundraising $6,000,000 for new buildings: library, science center, Cleveland College, men's dormitory, School of Applied Social Sciences, and remodeling Thwing Hall as a student union.
The campaign was started 12/11/1950 by the Western Reserve University Board of Trustees Executive Committee.
The fundraising originally was to be completed in a year, but actually extended over several. Beaumont Hall (School of Applied Social Sciences) and Claud Foster Hall (men's dormitory) were completed in 1955. Freiberger Library was completed and Thwing Hall renovations were completed in 1956. Baker Building (Cleveland College) was finished in 1958. The science center was deferred.
