Capers, Gerald M. (Gerald Mortimer)
Variant namesDr. Gerald M. Capers (May 30, 1909-May 28, 1992) of New Orleans, was educated at Southwestern at Memphis, and Yale University. He taught history at Yale and Tulane University, and was active in scholarly and historical associations. He was especially acclaimed as a biographer of Stephen A. Douglas.
