Nikirk, Francis M., 1843-1909.
Nikirk was the youngest of 6 children. His family moved from Maryland to Illinois when he was 12 years old. Two other brothers also served in Union regiments during the Civil War. Francis later married Caroline Erdman and was a builder and carpenter in Forreston, IL, after the war.
