Carroll Warren McColpin (b. 1914, Buffalo, N.Y.-d. Nov. 28, 2003), U.S. Air Force officer, volunteered with the Royal Air Force in 1940 and transferred to the U.S. Army Air Force in 1942. He commanded the 336th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, and was commander of the 404th Fighter Bomber Group throughout the English, French, and Belgian campaigns. During the 1950s, he was assigned to the Continental Air Command; to the Air Defense Command as director of operations and training; and to Eastern Air Defense Force HQ as deputy for operations. In 1958, he was appointed director of operations, HQ North American Air Defense Command, and in 1964 became vice commander, 28th Air Division. He retired in 1968.
