Wadsworth, Elizabeth, 1779-1802
Sister of Zilpah Longfellow, mother of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. A lock of George Washington's hair was given to Elizabeth Wadsworth by Martha Washington, and subsequently left to Zilpah Longfellow. Later it was encased by H.W. Longfellow in a gold locket, now known as the 'Longfellow Locket', which is currently owned by the Maine Historical Society.
