Citizens United for Responsible Energy
The Citizens United for Responsible Energy (CURE) was formed in 1973. As stated in its by-laws, the purpose of CURE are to "support a national moratorium for nuclear energy, to support the conservational and efficient use of energy, to seek funding for unconventional energy sources, to enact legislation which will promote safe, clean, and renewable energy and to work for responsible energy decisions which will meet immediate needs and consider long-range consequences."
