Newbold family.
Thomas Newbold was born in Springfield Twp., Burlington County, N.J. in 1760. He was a farmer and sole owner of League Island, Philadelphia, Pa. He served in the New Jersey State Legislature and later in the United States House of Representatives. Upon his death on December 18, 1823, his son, Thomas J. Newbold, assumed the operation of the farm. William Black, Jr. became the guardian for his daughter, Mary T. Newbold.
