Magee, James Carre, 1883-1975
James Carre Magee (b. Jan. 23, 1883, Ireland-d. Oct. 15, 1975), Major General in the U.S. Army, was commissioned in the Medical Corps in 1909 after graduating from Jefferson Medical College. He served on the Mexican border and was regimental surgeon with the American Expeditionary Force from 1917 to 1919. He served as Surgeon General of the Army beginning in 1939 until his retirement in 1943.
