Varnado, Samuel Ross, 1881-1931

Samuel Ross Varnado was the Captain of Company L, 325th Infantry of the American Expeditionary Forces in France during World War One. He was wounded in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive and was a patient in a Veterans Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi. Family members included mother, Florence Bankston Varnado, and brother, Lieutenant Clyde Wendell Varnado (1894-1920).
