The family of David Sterrett numbered among the earliest settlers and landholders of Sterrettania, Pennsylvania, named for the Sterrett family. David Sterrett built and owned a large grist mill in McKean Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania. Among his many children were two sons who bore the name of Innis: Brice Innis Sterrett (1817-1830) and David Brice Innis Sterrett (1837-1863).
