Born in California. Enlisted in the Army on January 26, 1943 after completing one year of college. Joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colorado and was assigned to the 86th Infantry Regiment, Company B. Served at Camp Swift, Texas and in Italy. Received a Bronze Star Medal for his actions near Sassomolare, Italy on March 4, 1945. After the war, received a Bachelor's degree in architecture and worked as a self-employed architect. Forker and his wife Juanita had two children.
