Biography

Mary Ann R. Lewis was born on 1 Feb. 1797, the daughter of Luke and Mary H. (Root) Lewis. She and her three sisters (Amelia, Jane, and Louisa) all attended the Litchfield Female Academy. Mary Ann Lewis died unmarried on 7 June 1884; she is buried in Litchfield's East Cemetery.
