Hart, Henry Elmer, 1834-1905

Henry Elmer Hart was born in Southington, Connecticut, on June 1, 1834, the son of Reuel Hart and Rosanna Barnes. He attended the Lewis Academy in Southington, Connecticut, and received a bachelor's degree from Yale in 1860. In 1863, he graduated from the Theological Institute of Connecticut (now Hartford Seminary), and subsequently served as the pastor of multiple Congregational churches in Connecticut. Between 1881 and 1890, he preached in Franklin, Connecticut; he later moved to West Hartford, Connecticut. He married Josephine G. Perry on October 5, 1864, and they had three children: Ada, William, and Elizabeth. Henry Elmer Hart died on September 9, 1905.
