Anderson, John Fain, 1844-1929.
John Fain Anderson was born in 1844 in Blountville, (Sullivan County), but moved to Washington County in his youth. He joined the Union Army and was stationed in Knoxville and Loudon, Tenn. After the war he operated a store in Washington County; retired from mercantile business in 1881 and bought a farm in the county; became an authority on local history. Married Susan Florence Lady in 1869; died at home in 1929.
